Practical Drawing [100 marks] 
Do not open this booklet until you are told to do so. While yon are waiting, read the following instructions carefully. Write your name and index number in ink (blue or black) in the spaces provided above. 

This paper consists of two sections: A and B. Section A consists of three questions requiring sketches of 
objects, components, symbols and tools used in Building and Mechanical Industries. Candidates should answer question 1 and any other question in 45 minutes for 30 marks. 

Section  B  consists  of  two  questions,  one  on  Building  Drawing  and  the  other  on  Mechanical  Drawing. Candidates should answer either of the two questions in 2 hours for 70 marks. 

Accuracy  and good draughtsmanship are essential Careful layout is important.  The drawings must be clearly lined in pencil. Where dimensions are omitted, candidates should use their discretion to determine the dimensions to be used. 

One A2 (594 mm x420 mm) sheet of drawing paper is provided; both sides may be used. Except otherwise stated, candidates may1 use any drawing aids. 

All dimensions on the diagrams and specifications are given in millimetres. 

Freehand Sketching
[ 30 marks ] 
Answer two questions from this section: question 1 and one other question. 
Use the A2 (594 mm x420 mm) drawing paper provided. 
(Candidates will be penalized for using any drawing aid other than pencil) 

1. Three views of an object, given in third angle orthographic projection, are shown in Fig. 1. 
Make a freehand sketch of the pictorial view of the object, making M the lowest point. [ 20 marks ]

2. Make a freehand sketch of the pictorial view of a rammer. [ 10 marks ] 

3. Make a freehand sketch of the pictorial view of a scraper. f 10 marks ]
